Following the announcement by KHFC of reduced admission prices for the Ebbsfleet United match, and the subsequent reduced prices for under 16’s for remaining home matches this season, KHIST organised an advertisement to be placed in the Kidderminster Shuttle on the 27th March 2008.

This was funded by a 50:50 split between KHIST and C & S Solicitors, who are a KHIST corporate member. Many thanks to C & S for providing financial support, along with Mike Cooper of All Media Print Management, who designed the advertisement at no cost.

Following recent letters submitted by KHIST to the directors of KHFC, a response was received on the 20th March 2008 from the club.

It is now public knowledge that the club have decided to reduce admission prices for the Ebbsfleet match and KHIST strongly applaud this move. We did put forward a number of ideas and each had their own positives and negatives, however, the principle here is that the board are listening to supporters and trying to generate either more interest or more money for the club (or both!). In addition, the reduction of Under 16 prices for the remaining home games is also a positive move due to kids being the future of the clubs support, not to mention the likelihood that they often attend with paying adults.

At time of writing this statement, KHIST are working on advertising these concessionary rates in the Kidderminster Shuttle on the 27th March. Full details will be shared, but currently it is intended to share the cost of this advertisement between KHIST and one of our corporate members.

A common complaint from supporters of Kidderminster Harriers was the lack of communication coming from the club. We are pleased to see recent developments, namely the “Question Mark” initiative, and now the beginning of regular communication from Barry Norgrove.

There are a number of issues that remain outstanding that KHIST will continue to pursue. Two that are towards the top of our agenda are the resumption of bucket collections for every home game (there was a collection prior to the Rushden game and this was the one game we were permitted to collect at this season) which is a valuable source of regular income for KHIST, not to mention the fact that it maintains our visibility. The other strong desire is for KHIST to have a manned stand inside the ground during matchdays in order that supporters can come and have a chat and find out what KHIST are doing. We see this as vital in increasing our membership and trying to unite the fan base, as we are aware that KHIST are still not yet publically as visible as we would like.

The club have told us they wish to delay further discussion on these issues until the close season. KHIST would have preferred to have moved forward with these and other activities immediately but given that the season is rapidly coming to a close there is probably little point in trying to push for resolution of these issues in the next few weeks.

Harriers supporters team 3 Exeter supporters team 2

It was another early start on Saturday as the Harriers supporters team travelled down the M5 to take on Exeter for the first time. It was another impressive turnout by the Harriers as manager Dave Pountney had a squad of 14 players to choose from. The game was played at the very impressive Woodbury Park on the outskirts of Exeter which had a pitch that most conference clubs would envy.

Just a final reminder that the KHIST supporters team are playing the Exeter City supporters team THIS Saturday. - 22nd March 08. They have booked excellent facilities for the match (used by professional football teams when they visit the area). Players will be travelling to the game by car as it is a bank holiday weekend and the mini bus would cost too much to hire. Thanks to Harty and Ackers who will be driving alongside Dave Poutney.

Players will be meeting at Jacksons for 7.20 or Aggborough at 7.30am.

Numbers are small for this game so any new players, or lapsed players, would be very welcome and likely to get a lengthy run out.

Please contact Dave Poutney on djpoutney@hotmail.com if you are interested.

Following the decline in attendances in the current season, KHIST have submitted a letter to the KHFC board making some suggestions, as well as offering to help with the design and financial cost of advertising.

The letter was handed in prior to the Grays match and we hope to receive a response in the next week.  Please click on the link below to view a copy of the letter.
