Harriers Trust FC was setup in 2003, as part of fulfilling one of the objectives of the KHIST constitution of strengthing bonds within the local Community – see the ‘About KHIST’ page for more info.
After season-upon-season of successive promotions, Harriers Trust FC are starting the 2007/8 season playing at the top Sunday league level of the Kidderminster Premier Division.
For those that are not familiar with the local amateur football scene then I shall explain. There are seven amateur divisions on a Sunday morning in the Kidderminster & District League. Although amateur, the running of the league is handled very professionally and indeed is very well respected. As a contrast, Worcester, which of course is a city and has a larger population than Kidderminster, can only muster 3 divisions for Sunday morning football. Many of the players in the higher divisions of the Kidderminster Sunday league turn out for semi-professional teams on a Saturday. Many ex-Harriers have played in the Kidderminster’s amateur leagues; the likes of whom include Jan Mulders, Darren Steadman, Matt Beard, Jay Powell, Jon Ford, Richard Burgess, Stuart Payne and the current Kidderminster Harriers manager Mark Yates.
