KHIST initiative – Armed Forces Day

Supporters will be aware that the Trust has, for several weeks been in communication with the football club to make a reality of a suggestion put forward by one of our board members.

The proposal has been to allow free access to a selected football match at Aggborough for current and former members of HM Armed Forces, on production of their ID. We are pleased to confirm that this has been accepted by the football club and that access will be allowed to both standing and seated areas. Unfortunately, we have not been able to agree on another proposal to extend this offer to reservists and ‘Territorials’.

The Gateshead match on Saturday 9th November has been selected for the event, as this is the closest home match to Armistice Day. It’s possible however, that this fixture may have to be postponed, as our opponents could be engaged in FA Cup activity on that day. If that should happen, we’ve agreed that the offer will be transferred to a rearranged match, probably on a weekday shortly thereafter

We are obliged to the club for supporting this venture, which we hope will also prove to be successful in attracting families and friends of servicemen and women to Aggborough.
