12th Man – The Result!
Congratulations go to Harriers Season Ticket Holder ERIC REYNOLDS who is officially the club’s “12th Man” for the 2010/11 Season.
Mr. Reynolds, 68, who lives just off Hoo Road near Aggborough in Kidderminster, was the name drawn from the hundreds who’d entered this summer’s competition run by the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters’ Trust (KHIST).
He visited Aggborough yesterday with his five year-old grandson Jack in tow, and as part of his prize both were able to pose with the team for an official squad photograph – a copy of which you can pick up in pull-out poster form in our first match day programme of the season versus Southport next Tuesday.
Eric also gets his name and squad number added to the squad list here on your official website, not to mention each and every match programme both home and away for the forthcoming season.
All this for just a £1 raffle ticket – no wonder the call came as something of a surprise recently!
“I got involved with this through joining KHIST a few weeks ago which I’d only really done because I think it is important to have that supporter relationship with the club,” our newest addition explained to harriers.co.uk.
“I did it for that purpose so I was certainly surprised to hear I’d been pulled out of the hat.
“The call came during an evening and I’d already had a meal and a few glasses of wine so I thought it was someone winding me up!
“But I’m happy about it and I was especially pleased to get my grandson involved, he was a bit overawed by the occasion but he really loved being there.”
A keen cyclist, he swapped his bike for a seat up at Aggborough a few years ago and he now enjoys watching our boys tackle the physical side of a Saturday afternoon.
“Up until a few years ago I had been actively involved in veteran cycle racing and I hadn’t got time for anything else as I was racing each weekend,” he added.
“But when I stopped doing that I started coming up to the Harriers and it was a nice change to be watching other people going at it!
“I gradually got more involved and last year I became a Season Ticket holder and am again this season.
“I’m at all the home games where I can meet up with a few friends and have a couple of drinks and it is a nice afternoon, particularly if we win!
