An open letter to Mr Swan
An open letter to Chris Swan that will also appear in next week’s Kidderminster Shuttle.
Mr Swan
Thankyou for calling the Kidderminster Harriers FC shareholders meeting. It was fairly informative and I thankyou for offering to buy the club.
After you left the meeting, a lengthy discussusion was held between the current and former directors of the club, parent company Aggborough Holdings and other majority shareholders. A deal was agreed between them which I felt was thoroughly fair and was offered to you the following morning. I wasn’t surprised to see that you turned down the terms of the deal, considering your ‘take it or leave it’ comments at the share holders meeting.
As a result of the events of the last week, I feel there are serious questions that need to be put to you regarding your intentions for the club.
Are you still interesting in purchasing Kidderminster Harriers?
There is growing speculation about the remainder of the lease for Aggborough. As chairman of the club would you sell or surrender the lease back to the council?
Do you plan to relocate the club and if so would it be in the Wyre Forest?
Do you plan to lower the current running costs and would any surplus money generated be available for the club to use?
You stated at the shareholders’ meeting you felt the club was under acheiving and you could imagine it being in the Football League. You were asked how much money you were prepared to invest in the club to ensure it could compete with the likes of promotion hopefuls Crawley Town and Luton. You weren’t prepared to comment on a figure but Barry Norgrove has been quoted as saying that you would immediately put in £200,000 and a further £100,000 in January. Can you confirm these figures as they are far short of what has been spent by Crawley and Luton?
Why are you not prepared to reimburse Dave Reynolds and Mark Serrell the money they have put into the club to ensure it avoided being wound up?
If you take over the club would you clarify if Mr Norgrove, who refuses to relinquish his share in Aggborough Holdings, would be involved in the new set-up running Harriers?
