Dave’s JDRF Challenge (update 5)
Dave (pictured here with Nick Richards – also from Kidderminster) completed the latest leg of his exhausting challenge on Sunday when competing in the Manchester Marathon.
Despite having (once again) injured his knee at the halfway stage, he was very pleased with his 5812th finish out of 20.000 competitors (think about it ….. that means he beat over 14,000 other runners, despite his injury). He actually managed a new personal best for a marathon of 3 hours, 55 minutes and 48 seconds.
Well done Dave !
We can’t see that injury standing in the way of his preparation for the next leg of his challenge ….. the Massey Ferguson 10K, on 22nd April.
After that, Dave’s schedule includes:-
19th May – The Worcester Marathon
15th June – KAPOW Superhero Challenge Obstacle Course (with daughter Ellie)
21st/22nd June – The Three Peaks Challenge
24th August – The Blackpool ‘Run the Lights 10K’
21st-22nd September – The Equinox 24 Hour Race
13th October – The Birmingham Half Marathon
8th December – Telford 10k
Dave’s efforts have now raised over £800 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
