KHFC vs Braintree Town – KHIST POTM Man of the Match – Vote Now!

Harriers came from behind on Saturday to maintain their slender lead at the summit of the Blue Square Bet Premier with a 2-1 victory over Braintree Town at Aggborough, ahead of their mouthwatering Easter Monday clash at Luton Town this afternoon.

An uneventful first half ended with the visitors taking the lead, Kenny Davis heading in from Dan Sparkes’ corner to give the Iron the lead. But the introduction of a rampant Marvin Johnson in the second half saw him dash down the wing from James Vincent’s through ball to cross for a waiting Anthony Malbon who tapped in the equaliser.

It took only three more minutes for Harriers to take the lead when Malbon turned provider, crossing a ball which was turned into the Braintree net by defender Dean Wells.

And that’s the way it stayed and Harriers clung on for a vital three points in the title race. They head to Kenilworth Road today a point clear of rivals Mansfield Town although the Stags do still possess three games in hand.
