KHIST Announcement

Members of the KHIST Board have been pleased to receive confirmation from the club that the appointment of our nominee to the Board of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club has now received the approval of the Football Association. We are delighted, therefore to announce that Dave Williams will be joining Geoff Coles as a Club Director and is to be our second representative on the Board. His appointment takes effect from 1st January 2015.

Dave is well-known and respected in Wyre Forest as a self-employed businessman, who is also a popular character on the terraces at Harriers’ matches, both home and away. It may not be quite such common knowledge that he has been an influential member of KHIST since the Trust was founded in 2003. More recently, Harriers’ supporters will appreciate his major role in the undoubted success of the ‘2020 Lottery’ which has, in just 4 years, enabled the Trust to raise in excess of £94,000 for the benefit of our football club. This has helped us to achieve a 5.51% shareholding in the club, on behalf of supporters. Since joining the KHIST Board, Dave has been involved in the many important successes of the Trust, including the organisation of numerous events (see  www.khist.org.uk) and away travel arrangements. More recently, supporters will have appreciated Dave’s involvement in organising the very successful Fans’ Forum, Since he became a member of the KHIST Board, he has been appreciated for his outstanding support of colleagues in representing supporters’ interests, His new appointment will undoubtedly promote a healthy relationship between the club and KHIST members, who will collectively now have a greater influence through the Trust.

On receiving confirmation of his appointment, Dave said “I am delighted that we (KHIST) have secured a second representative to support Geoff and the Board of Directors in ensuring the supporters’ views are well represented. I am privileged to have the support of KHIST and the opportunity to join the Board of the football club I’ve supported all my life. I’m looking forward to working together (with members of both boards) and taking the club forward.”

Having secured such a notable success in our continuing quest to promote the interests of Harriers’ supporters and to achieve greater influence in the running of our football club, members of the KHIST Board are keen to encourage even greater numbers of fans to back these efforts by becoming Trust members. You can join HERE or by completing a membership application form, available from KHIST tables at Aggborough or from any Trust Board Member.
