You may remember that, back in August, we were delighted to inform our members that a Harriers Fans’ Team is to take part in next year’s World Net Supporters’ Tournament, which will take place, in Nottingham over the weekend of 6th and 7th July.
A number of experienced players who have previously represented the Trust are still involved in the sport and currently performing well. It is these guys and others like them, who will make up the nucleus of the squad but, there’s lots of time before they have to turn out fully fit and ready for the contest.
We are still looking for players to make up the squad, so if you are aged 35 or over, fancy your chances with the vets team and would like to get involved, please contact Dave Pountney, as soon as possible.
Dave will be at the KHIST table inside the North Stand turnstiles on Saturday, when he will (amongst other duties) be dealing with KHIST membership renewals and registering new members. He can also be contacted at :
djmpountney@gmail.com
or on 07872 915886
When the time comes, the squad will have a lot to live up to, if they are to compare with other KHIST representative sides, albeit that previous teams have competed in open age tournaments. We’ll be looking to the veterans to carry the flag next year.
