KHIST have been helping HUST

Many Harriers’ supporters will remember the day when our historic club came within 20 minutes of administration and potential liquidation. That was back in 2011 when, with the support of members, fans and the local community, KHIST and other generous benefactors responded to raise thousands of pounds in a few short days and managed to avoid the final countdown. The KHIST board, and our predecessors, are proud of that fantastic achievement, without which we would since have had no club for us all to support. There have been subsequent situations when the Trust has been called upon to provide urgent finance, to secure the immediate future of Kidderminster Harriers, so we will all empathise with the supporters of Hartlepool United, who have recently seen their proud club in fast fall towards extinction.

However, in similar fashion to our own experience, the Hartlepool United Supporters Trust has set about trying to secure the future of their football club and KHIST have been delighted to have been able to offer our assistance. We contacted Andy Wilson their Fundraising Director to suggest that HUST might benefit from our experiences and were pleased to  give him advice regarding the setting up and workings of our own, very successful KHIST 2020 Lottery.  This, we understand has been invaluable in  enabling HUST to give urgent attention to setting up their own similar fundraising project.

As with our own flagship fundraising vehicle, the HUST lottery will be managed entirely independently of their club, in order to ensure that its proceeds will be properly used (at the discretion of the Trust’s board and in the interests of their members) to achieve success for their club and to fund its long term security.

KHIST are delighted to have been able to assist Andy Wilson and the Hartlepool United Supporters’ Trust Board in their endeavours to secure the future of their football club and we wish them all the success they truly deserve.
