Kidderminster Foodbank

KHIST is now planning our regular collection for the Christmas Food Appeal and will be manning collection points at Aggborough Stadium on Saturday, 8th December, prior to the Harriers’ home match with Brackley Town. We are giving early notice in the belief that we will, once again, be able to count on the generosity of the local community to support this deserving charitable cause.

There are concerns for this winter, as the local foodbank has revealed that 1658 three day emergency food supplies were distributed to local people between 1st April and 30th September, (with 692 going to children) – a 46% increase on the same period last year. This demand is likely to increase further with the setting in of colder weather.

The good people of Wyre Forest have been very supportive of previous appeals and helped make the Festive Season that much more enjoyable for those of our residents who are less fortunate.

Our pre-Christmas collections in 2014 and 2016 contributed some 197kgs and 155kgs of foodstuffs, respectively and there have been additional, generous cash donations. It’s our ambition, this year, to exceed 200kgs and therefore break that record.

Please support us again.
