Local Community DO want a football club

We are delighted to announce the results of KHIST’s extensive media and fundraising campaign over the last week.

Following an appeal for the local community and wider area to show its support of KHFC we have been overwhelmed by the response we recieved. The media campaign has put the Harriers in the national spotlight and we are also delighted to hear that this has put potential investors in contact with the club.

Around a week ago with the club needing to find £155,000 to avoid a CVA or worse KHIST started a media campaign to highlight the clubs plight. The club have since featured on all local radio, tv and newspapers and on Saturday our local MP’s also lent their support to the club.

KHIST corprate member ‘Kimmy Loves Cake’ started a campaign through social network sites to donate via paypal to secure the future of the football club. This snowballed as supporters both home and abroad donated and we are delighted to announce that the current total donated via paypal and direct to our bank account is £16,883.78.

On Wednesday our media campaign then switched its attention to our league clash with Altrincham and the need for the supporters to come out in force. We appealed for the local community to support its club and we are pleased to say that they did! Supporters groups from Wolves, Villa, Birmingham and AFC Telford all sent supporters.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning KHIST members spent their time leafleting in the town centre to publicise the Altrincham game. Thanks to the town mayor we were also able to do a bucket collection and we are delighted to say that these collections raised £1721.37.

At the game on Saturday we were overcome with the messages of support that the football club and KHIST recieved. A seasons best crowd of 2930 came out to support the club, more than double what we would normally expect!

We roughly estimate that even the extra attendance generated around £15,000 extra in revenue plus other associated benefits! The bucket collections at the ground also raised an astonishing £5044 in cash and cheques – thank you everyone!

So the total raised this week is £23,649.15 plus cheques direct to the club (£1075) and plenty of new KHIST personal, corporate and lottery members. With other donations direct to the club we estimate that this week’s activities have brought in around £40,000 worth of extra revenue to KHFC.

What a fantastic achievement and just goes to show what can be achieved BUT this is only just the start. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed. Whether you donated financially, attended for the first time this season, regulars who brought friends/family to the game, or gave up time to help. It was a fantastic team effort.

We hope that many people will now return to Aggborough and support our great club as we challenge for the play offs.
