The KHIST 2019 Charity Appeal for the Homeless

Our Appeal took place last Saturday, prior to the Harriers home match with York City, and we are pleased to report that it was a resounding success. With the help of volunteers, KHIST board members collected really substantial donations. These are now being sorted and delivered to our selected Charities, to offer much needed help to homeless and vulnerable people in our local Community.

We were particularly intrigued to receive an anonymous donation of several new sleeping bags ordered from ‘Amazon’ and delivered c/o Kidderminster Harriers. That was a thoughtful and generous gift and to that person we would like to say a very big “thank you!”

The Trust would, once again, like to express our sincere thanks to all those who helped us with the appeal, including:-

  • Dave Griffin at ‘Quads ‘N’ Castles’ in Kidderminster, for arranging collection of donations and deliveries. (He is pictured here with KHIST board members Dave Williams and Ian Nash and a van load of donations).

Dave supports homeless people in the Wyre Forest District and also offers help and support to the ‘Night Kitchen’ (formerly known as the Soup Kitchen). His cause on facebook is called H.E.L.P.
  • Dave Mole for assisting us from the start with organising the event,

  • Matty Paddock for arranging valuable publicity via the Harriers’ website.

and of course

  • our members, other Harriers’ supporters and the local community for your most generous support.

Together, we have been able to provide much needed items of clothing, bedding and other essential items to help the less fortunate in our local area.

……… Many thanks !
