A weekend of misery
It was a bad weekend to be associated with Kidderminster Harriers.
It started on the morning of the 1st March when the KHIST supporters team suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Aldershot fans. The fans team is looking a lot more youthful these days, although Dave Williams massively raises the average age. Unfortunately, due to his stiffening joints, his legendary pre-match warm ups are taking longer and longer each week, to the extent that he is trying to persuade Jackie to let him travel to away matches the night before to begin his preparation. The boys lost 5-2 with the gaffer, Dave Poutney, bagging a brace.
This defeat was followed by a 2-1 defeat by the first team against Aldershot in the afternoon. Reports were abound that this was a much improved performance from the lads against table topping Shots.
Onto Sunday 2nd March and the two Harriers Trust teams. The first team played away at Swindon Dell and lost 2-1. The reserve team are improving as the season progresses but are finding themselves on the wrong end of some tight matches. On Sunday they went down 3-2 at home against Hamilton Rangers.
As we move into the “business end” of the season, all 4 Harriers teams will be looking to finish strongly and leave their fans with something to remember over the summer months.
