Chairman’s Report 2009
As presented at the recent AGM of KHIST, here is the Chairman’s Report from Dave Weaver in full, reflecting back on what has been a productive last 12 months for the trust…
Another year has gone by and KHFC and KHIST are still going strong.
So whats happened over the past year?
Well the Harriers narrowly missed out on a play – off spot, dismantled the side in close season, rebuilt it,and as I write this review, are on the fringes of the top 5 once again.
Where do KHIST sit amongst all this activity?
KHIST are totally committed to supporting the club, its board, its manager and his assistant and the team, in all its activities.
During the past year, we, as a Supporters Trust, have sought to support the club to the best of our abilities providing both physical or financial support whenever and wherever possible.
So what have we achieved over the last year?
Well, we were quick to recognise the impact of the credit crunch and reduced our membership fees from £5-00 down to £1-00. This led to an instant increase in our membership and at the end of last season we had 229 members.
So we have maintained our pricing structure again for this year and are hopeful of increasing our numbers once again.
During the course of last season,we were able to assist Mark and the team by providing the finance to pay for a number of overnight stays in hotels, prior to long distance away games. We were rewarded with a 100% away record in those games, and both Mark and the players have expressed their appreciation of our financial input.
Prior to this season, we have again provided finance to the club in the form of board advertising, programme sponsorship and player sponsorship. We also provided some of the finance to bring in Chris McPhee to the club, probably our best bit of business yet.
We have recently run a raffle for the club and were able to hand over a cheque for £910-00, we have once again paid over money for the team to stay in a hotel overnight prior to the York game, as well as a few other smaller contributions.
So all in all we are thriving but we can’t do it without our members. So a big thank you to you all.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to Dave Williams , Dave Pountney and the Fans Team without whose support we would not have been able to achieve half of what we have done. They continue to spread the good name of KHIST & KHFC in all that they do, whilst raising valuable funds along the way.
The Harriers Trust football team also continue to thrive with two teams competing in the Kidderminster & District Football league . Well done to both teams, long may their success continue.
I must also make a special mention of the intrepid souls who walked to Histon recently, in order to raise funds for the County Air Ambulance and KHIST. Lads, thanks for your efforts, they are much appreciated.
So, what more can I say? Well, just a big thank you to the hard working KHIST board, I wish we were more in numbers, if we were, we could do so much more, is anybody interested in helping us? Please !!!
But most of all, thank you to you, the KHFC supporters who so generously support us time and time again.
Cheers,
Dave Weaver,
KHIST Chairman
