CHARITY EVENT FOR THE STROKE ASSOCIATION

Cookley Lads -v- Cookley Legends

On Sunday 16th December a Charity Football match is to be played at Cookley Sports & Social Club (2.00pm kick off), to raise funds for the Stroke Association. This will be in memory of former Cookley Boys Coach, Mitchell Bastable, who passed away in August aged just 45, after a brief illness.

Mitch was also well-known with local operatic societies and theatre companies and performed at many fundraising events with the band ‘Got the T-Shirt’.

The Boys at Cookley want to raise as much money as possible, in recognition of the considerable efforts and long hours Mitch devoted to the coaching of several of their teams. They have challenged the 2002/03 Cookley Mens Double Winners to this match in the hope that the local community will turn out in numbers to support them.

All comers will be welcome to attend the match and will have an opportunity to make a donation to this well-deserving Charity.

If you are unable to attend but would like to donate,
