Charity Walking Challenge

During the course of the next few months, KHIST Board Member and Treasurer – Dave Lewis – will be  undertaking several challenges in aid of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. This is in grateful recognition of the support received by his sister (and his family), for over a decade following the devastating news in 1979, that she had been diagnosed with spina bifida. With her ongoing care programme she’s now able to lead a fulfilling life.

This Charity raises vital funds to make a real difference to those who use the hospital and to improve treatments for very sick children.

Dave’s planned challenges are:

  •    To walk 2,000 GPS tracked miles in 2019
  •    To walk the 31 miles of the Worcestershire Way (Bewdley – Malvern) on 13th April.
  •    To walk to the summit of Snowdon TWICE on 1st June.
  •    To complete the ‘3 Peaks Challenge’ (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) on 21st/22nd June.

This link will take you to Dave’s story and more information about his chosen charity. You can also support his efforts by making a donation, which will be gratefully received and put to good use:
