Fans Day at Aggborough Stadium Details
Although the season has now finished you still have one more chance to watch a Harriers team at Aggborough, well three actually!
On Saturday 9th May the Harriers fans football team will play their now annual fundraiser and season finale at Aggborough Stadium. The event was started in 2008 and has since raised well over £10,000 for the football club. It also acts as a great reward to the Harriers fans that support the club and play during the season.
The fans team have used nearly 60 different players during a tough season and these players have been split into three even sides that will play full 90 minute games throughout the day.
The first game kicks off at 10am as the first KHIST fans team will take on the Red Brigade Harriers Supporters Group. This will be the first time that these groups have met and promises to be a competitive but friendly fixture. Which Harriers group will earn the bragging rights?
Then at 1pm and arguably the highlight of the day a second fans team will take on a Harriers All Star XI managed by KHFC legend Adie Smith. His side will be packed full of former players with thousands of appearances between them.
Adie’s team will be picked from the likes of Stuart Brock, Tim Clarke, Ian Foster, Wayne Hatswell, Lee Hughes, Kim Casey, Delwyn Humphreys, Neil Mackensie, Mick Touhy, Les Hines, Darren Steadman, Scott Stamps, Jon Purdie, Mark Yates, Leroy May, Dean Bennett, Craig Hinton, Stuart Hadley, Richard Forsyth, Steve Pope and Steve Taylor to name just a few!
Next up at 4pm the final fans side will take on a team from the Hereford United Supporters Trust. Both trusts have built up a good relationship since their recent problems and have met numerous times over the last couple of years. We wish them well for next season. Can the Bulls get their first victory over Harriers at the fourth attempt?
Finally at 6.30pm local sides TS Units and Comberton Dynamoes Veterans will finish the day before everyone retires to the bar for the evenings entertainment.
Spectators are welcome throughout the day and can gain entrance next to the club-shop. Admission is just £1 and you will receive a KHIST lottery ticket too.
The Aggborough Suite bar, overlooking the pitch, will be open from noon with live football also being shown. Plus old and new KHFC kit available to purchase throughout the day (see below).
Both Gary Whild, Mark Creighton and new chairman Rod Brown will be in attendance too. Rod Brown will take charge of the fans team for the 1pm game with a couple of first team players taking the warm up. With the Adie All Star line up it looks like the 1pm fans team will need some help!
That’s not the end of the activities though as on the evening the fans will round off the season in style up in the Aggborough Suite. This event is open to all with live music provided by local band LA VIVAS and entrance is FREE courtesy of new KHFC chairman, Rod Brown.
So please join us for a fun day of football with former KHFC legends and help us raise funds for the football club.
Finally KHIST will be launching the 12th Man initiative. For just £10 you can be entered into a draw to become a member of the team squad for the upcoming season. You will appear in the squad photo, in the programme and receive a shirt signed by the whole squad. KHIST board members will be present with further details.
