Fans winning machine rumbles on
Harriers Fans Team 7 York City Fans Team 3
The Harriers supporters team continued their impressive form this season with a comfortable win at the York University sports centre on saturday. The supporters side was much changed due to injuries with Dave “Dinosaur” Williams and Mark Young forming a new central defensive partnership.
Unsuprisingly, given the long journey, the Harriers side started slowly and took a while to get into the game. But once goals from David Greaves and John Wenham had helped give the Harriers a 3-1 lead the result was never really in doubt. Tom Sharland added another to give the Harriers a 4-1 half time lead with his now customary two inch finish.
At the start of the second half though York pulled one back and played some good football on a good pitch. However, further goals from David Greaves and John Wenham restored the advantage and in the end the KHIST supporters side ran out comfortable winners. Despite David Greaves grabbing four of the goals, John Wenham produced a man of the match performance with a couple of goals and assists.
It was a determined performance against an established side to continue the good run. The supporters side are in action again this Saturday when its another long journey this time south to Weymouth looking to complete the double over our Dorset couterparts.
