New Year’s Day – Clarification re. ticketing

Over the past 24 hours, the Trust has had approaches from a number of members regarding yesterday’s post on the Harriers’ website. Concerns were being raised about the club’s ticketing arrangements for the match and, to further confuse the situation, it became clear that several different understandings and interpretations were being expressed on social media. It became clear therefore, that the only way to resolve potential misunderstandings was to ask the club for a statement.

We have therefore been in touch with the club and, in response to our questions, have been given the following statements;

“Season ticket holders do not actively have to collect their ticket before New Year’s Day and can attend with their ST as normal. They would simply be given a match ticket at the turnstiles when – as they do every match – they hand over the match voucher from the booklet”. “We (the club) tried to explain that STH’s could simply collect theirs in advance of the day if they wished (some would). For those that don’t wish to, their match day arrangements are entirely unchanged“.

The club has apparently apologised on social media for the lack of clarity.

So far as ticketing for away fans is concerned, ”tickets had been sent to Hereford for them to sell to their own fans. Following Monday’s Trophy draw, however, they said five home games in 25 days would leave them, in their own words, ’stretched beyond capacity’. We offered to sell tickets to away fans ourselves, for which they were grateful. As such, it was their own choice. Hereford fans have two full weeks to purchase and most will choose to do so online, as it can be done from home with printable tickets (and no closure for Christmas), which will mean no need to make an extra trip to Aggborough”.

We were subsequently able to get the following clarifications:

  • Bulls fan’s will not be able to purchase tickets at Aggborough, on the match day. “They “must purchase before the day, whether that’s online, on the phone or in person. Online sales will continue up to 11am on the match day itself but there will be nothing else at the ground”
  • Harriers’ season ticket holders for the Main and East Stands will be accommodated in their usual, reserved seats. “The game is normal for season ticket holders. With any large crowd or any game here, some occasional supporters do take it upon themselves to sit in seats CLEARLY MARKED for season ticket holders but we will combat this with stewarding and messages both before the game and during the day via the PA systems. It’s a matter of courtesy so there really is no excuse”.
  • All other Harriers fans “will need to purchase their tickets before 1st January either in person or over the phone. The only exception is online, as the cut off for this is 11am on the day – as the logistics of online sales are obviously, significantly reduced”.

We (KHIST) hope that by seeking answers and getting the club’s responses to members’ questions, we will have satisfactorily provided the clarification they have requested but, if further clarification is required, we will be happy to put additional questions to the club, on their behalf.
