THE GREAT NORTH RUN – Charity Appeal

On Sunday 9th September, KHIST board member Dave Pountney will be taking part in his first half marathon, raising money for MAMA Academy. As Dave fully admits, it’s “not quite a fully-fledged mid-life crisis but the culmination of a lot of hard work” which has seen him lose nearly four stone in the last 6 or 7 months.

This charity is very close to his heart and that of his lovely wife, Beckie. He has explained that their world changed forever, when their daughter Charlotte was stillborn at full term, in the early hours of Friday 20th June,2014.

MAMA Academy empowers parents with safer pregnancy information. They also support midwives and other healthcare professionals with vital training, current research and guidelines whilst also providing stillbirth prevention resources to help save babies lives. Their aim is to encourage consistent maternity care across the Country, thereby improving outcomes for families and their precious babies. Please visit their website at https://www.mamaacademy.org.uk/ for full information.
