The Steve Millington Memorial Cup – MATCH ON
KHIST are pleased to confirm that, despite the recent weather in Herefordshire, the trophy is to be contested again this Festive Period.
The Trust originally donated the cup to the football club in 2016, in memory of the late Steve Millington, (a former KHIST Chairman), to celebrate the enormous contribution he made, not only to the Trust and our football club, but also in assisting Hereford fans with their ongoing struggles a few years previously.
Steve sadly passed away in 2013 but, three years later, a pre-season friendly match was held at Aggborough, between the two clubs’ first teams with the cup up for grabs. The Harriers won that match 4 -1 . Despite the efforts of both clubs, scheduling problems prevented further matches, with the result that the trophy was handed back to the Trust last year, with the intention of organising annual matches between Harriers’ and Bulls’ supporters.
Unfortunately, the plans for Boxing Day 2018 took their toll of torrential weather during the preceding days, so it is only now that the cup will once again be ‘on the line’.
The match is to be played on New Year’s Day at Victoria Park, 52 Wessington Drive, Hereford HR1 1AH, with an 11.00am kick off.
All proceeds from the match will go to Macmillan Cancer Support
